Singed: Singed surface treatments are available on most felts and give improved abrasion resistance, reduced fibre shedding and in some cases improves the filtration performance. Singeing the surface of polyester felt reduces fibre ends protruding from the surface, ultimately improving its dust release properties. The benefits achieved by singeing does not alter the physical characteristic of the fabric

Eggshell: Eggshell finish yields a very smooth surface without altering the physical characteritics. Technical advantages include improved cake release and finer particle filtration where higher air/cloth ratios are involved.

Glazed: Glazed fabrics are used in lower air/cloth ratio dry filtration applications and wet filtration media for fine particulate separation. Glazing is achieved by high temperature/pressure calendering producing a flexible, permeable surface on the felt. One or two sided glazing provides improved cake release and can be used where fine particles are present.
